  • Employee Cards - Yes. They are free and have customizable limits.
Why we like this Business Credit Card
  • Cash Back on Purchases - You earn 5% cash back on your first $2,000 of office supplies and 2% back on your first $2,000 of gas purchases. One downside is that you only earn 0.25% on other purchases until your total purchases reach $5,000 for the year. After that, you get 1% on all other purchases.
  • PurchaseChecks - If you use Discover’s PurchaseChecks, you’ll earn 0.25% on each dollar spent. Not a whole lot, but most issuers provide no cash back on checks. Also, these PurchaseChecks enjoy the same 13.99% variable rate that is applied to regular purchases.
  • Using Your Cash Back – Discover has signed up with a large number of retailers which allows you to stretch the Cash Back you earn even further. For example, you can redeem $20 in cash back for a $25 gift card to Staples.
What to watch
  • Cash Back Calculation - Unfortunately, your first $2,000 of gas purchases and your first $2,000 in office supplies do not count toward your first $5,000 in purchases for determining qualification for the 1% tier.
  • "As Low As" Pricing - You will not know your actual rate until your account is approved. If you don’t plan to pay your balance in full each month, you might consider a card which provides a bit more certainty.

  • Miles Expiration - Miles do not expire, but will be forfeited if your account is closed.
  • Employee Cards - Yes and they are free.
Why we like this Business Credit Card
  • Triple your miles - With 3 miles per dollar spent in a category of your choice (Travel, Gas, Building Materials, Computers and Electronics, Office Supplies or Advertising and Shipping) you can really pile up miles.
  • Flexibility in Miles Redemption - Miles earned can be redeemed for travel, merchandise or cash back.
What to watch
  • Standard Purchase and Balance Transfer APRs - On this card, Capital One is not committing to what your APR will be. It will be determined once you apply and has a pretty big range. This uncertainty may be a drawback if you don’t pay your balance in full each month.

Why we like this Business Credit Card
  • Rewards Earning Potential - This card offers 2 miles for every dollar of net purchases. It is among the most generous business credit cards we’ve seen.
  • Freedom and Simplicity - The program is not linked to any particular airline, has no black out dates and no seat limitations. In addition, you can use your miles for cash back, merchandise and other benefits.
What to watch
  • No Introductory Rates and High APR - If you are looking for a great rate and have excellent credit, this is not the card for you. With no introductory rates and a 17.99% variable APR, it is pretty expensive if you don’t pay your balance in full each month.
  • Travel Reward Activity - In order to qualify for reward redemption, remember to use your card when paying for your travel.
  • Value Received when Redeeming Miles for Merchandise or Cash - While the double miles provide a clear value when redeeming for airline tickets, Capital One does not disclose the redemption rates for cash back or merchandise until after you are approved.
